Pillar Innovations is seeking a Panel Shop Technician for its shop in Farmington, NM. This individual will be responsible to build electrical controls panels to specifications for internal and external customers. Such applications may include but not be limited to industries such as Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Plants, Coal, Wind Energy, etc. 

 

The Panel Shop Technician will work out of Pillar Innovations located in Farmington, NM. 

Responsibilities

  • Build and wire UL control panels according to CAD drawings and bill of materials
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop area
  • Maintains inventory levels
  • General duties will include assembly of control panels and enclosures, mounting components on panels, wire cutting, stripping, soldering, crimping, and testing of finished panels
  • Prepares finished control panels for shipment
  • Involved with on-site installs
  • Electrical troubleshooting 
  • Exercise safe electrical practices

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or related area
  • Graduate of a technical school with emphasis in electrical work is a plus
  • Able to read and comprehend electrical schematics
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory and shop standards
  • Be able to use tools such as pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers and other small tools
  • Solid work ethic
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds

  3. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds unassisted
  4. Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
  5. Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal boots, protective eye wear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  1. Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
  2.
