Pillar Innovations is now accepting applications and resumes’ for a full-time Instrumentation ManagerThe Instrumentation Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing a crew of Instrumentation Technicians, as well as interfacing and communicating with customers and cross-functional team members on project work. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized and have previous project management experience and the ability to adapt to customer needs. Projects may include but not be limited to: well-pad installations, commissioning, maintenance, pump and panel specification, trouble-shooting, compressor stations, etc. This position is customer-driven and candidates must be flexible and willing to work extended hours.         

The Instrumentation Technician will be based out of the Pillar Innovations’ office, located in Morgantown, WV.  Areas of operations include, but are not limited to:  West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC Metro Area, and Ohio.  

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong, transparent and effective day-to-day working relationships between manufacturing, R&D, internal support, regulatory groups and customers related to assigned duties.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Instrumentation Team and others providing electrical/instrumentation support.
  • Develop Technicians in providing a high level of quality in work performed, targeting Right First Time.
  • Lead programs to plan, execute, review and improve instrumentation and electrical maintenance reliability activities.
  • Responsible for routine calibrations on various types of instruments including but not limited to: gas monitors, pressure, temperature, process, level, flow, scales and analytical water quality instruments.
  • Troubleshoot process control performance issues associated with the systems measurement and control devices.
  • Develop, review, and approve calibration procedures and instrument designs.
  • Manage certification of calibration equipment and reference standards.
  • Identify, prioritize, and schedule the performance of work tasks to meet production needs, capital project schedules, and equipment maintenance / calibration schedules.
  • Evaluate and identify methods to achieve reliability of electrical and instrumentation installations by ensuring robust installation standards, techniques, qualification methods and the use of compliant systems, procedures, and designs.
  • Maintain quality control standards and provide repairs and appropriate solutions, while adhering to code and safety regulations.
  • Participate in the resolution of reliability related operational, process, equipment and maintenance problems.
  • Implement and maintain adherence to all company policies concerning environmental, health, safety, quality and human resources.
  • Provide input to annual operating budget and communicates issues with adherence within budget targets.

Qualifications

  • Degree in technical discipline or High School diploma with relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of instrumentation experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Prior Project Manager experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of electrical theories and excellent electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have experience with instrumentation air tubing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate issues and problems both orally and in writing.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and be available after-hours and on weekends.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
