    Pillar Innovations is now accepting applications for a full-time Fire Alarm / Security Level 1 Technician.  The Fire Alarm / Security Level 1 Technician is an entry level position that will work individually and/or as a part of a team to provide support to new and existing customer’s systems and components in various industries that may include, but are not limited to: Energy, Mining, Concrete, Oil and Gas, Aggregate, Food & Drug / General Industry, etc.


    This position will require a flexible schedule that includes extended hours, weekends, holidays and evenings.  Areas of operations include, but are not limited to:  MD, PA, WV, and OH.

    The Fire Alarm / Security Level 1 Technician will work out of the Pillar Shop located in Morgantown, WV.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Install electrical system components as assigned (e.g. panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, switches, cameras, servers etc.) for the purpose of providing enhanced, new, and upgraded system capabilities.
    • Run a variety of styles and sizes of conduit to electrical devices
    • Pull wire to connection boxes, switch panels and other terminals
    • Load and unload tools, supplies, equipment, etc.
    • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment pertinent to the electrical trade
    • Assist with paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory
    • Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner
    • Assist in other areas of the company and perform other duties as assigned


    Job Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma
    • 1+ years of electrical experience preferred
    • Technical knowledge of fire / security technologies
    • Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations. Ability to meet deadlines.
    • Any combination of the above schooling and training will be considered
    • Knowledge and ability to identify and utilize hand and power tools typically utilized in the electrical trade
    • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that include travel, out-of-town work, weekends, extended hours and call-out work
    • Must be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude
    • Must be able to work well with co-workers and customers

    • Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
    • Required safety equipment:  Metatarsal boots, protective eye wear, gloves, hard hat, FR clothing and hearing protection


    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    1. Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
    2. This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. In accordance with Pillar Innovation’s Drug and Alcohol policy, employees are required to participate in random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing as requested.
