    Pillar Innovations is now accepting applications and resumes for a self-starter to become a full-time Field Service Technician.  The Field Service Technician is a well-rounded service professional who will be responsible to deliver the desired customer service experience.  The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention and increases profitability.  The Field Service Technician will work within a wide range of industries and applications to include but not be limited to: energy, mining, manufacturing, commercial and industrial.



    The Field Services Technician will be based out of the Pillar Innovations’ office, located in Grantsville, MD.

    Job Responsibilities:


    • Provide service and customer support during field visits
    • Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting in the areas of (but not limited to):

    Industrial Instrumentation:

    • Routine calibrations on various types of instruments including: gas monitors, pressure, temperature, process, level, flow, scales and analytical water quality instruments.
    • Troubleshoot process control performance issues associated with the systems measurement and control devices.


    Electrical Troubleshooting:

    • Read and follow electrical code, manuals, wiring and circuitry diagrams, blueprints, schematics and other electrical specifications
    • Troubleshoot, diagnosis, and repair electrical issues, systems and components independently with minimal direction and supervision
    • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment
    • Exercise safe electrical practices


    Mechanical Troubleshooting:

    • Ability to understand and troubleshoot basic power transmission systems
    • Ability to understand and troubleshoot basic pneumatic and hydraulic systems


    • Cooperate with technical teams and share information across the organization
    • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
    • Build positive relationships with customers
    • Self-direct and follow up on deficiencies identified from operational issues
    • Maintain adherence to all company policies concerning environmental, health, safety, quality and human resources

    Job Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or related area
    • Graduate of a technical school with emphasis in electrical work is a plus
    • Strong knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting experience with the ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics
    • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation
    • Mechanical knowledge
    • Be able to use tools such as pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers and other small tools
    • Solid work ethic
    • Have a positive attitude
    • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors
    • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds

    • Ability to work at heights upwards of 40’
    • Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations.
    • Required to wear safety equipment: as per MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.




    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    1. Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
