    Pillar Innovations is now accepting applications and resumes for an experienced full-time Panel Shop Technician.  The Panel Shop Technician will be responsible to build electrical controls panels to specifications for internal and external customers.  The Panel Shop Technician will work within a wide range of industries and applications to include but not be limited to: energy, commercial and industrial.


    The Panel Shop Technician will be based out of the Pillar Innovations’ office, located in Grantsville, MD.

    • Build and wire control panels according to CAD drawings and bill of materials
    • Maintain a clean and organized shop area
    • Maintain inventory levels
    • General duties will include assembly of control panels and enclosures, mounting components on panels, wire cutting, stripping, soldering, crimping, and testing of finished panels
    • Prepare finished control panels for shipment
    • Involved with on-site installs
    • Electrical troubleshooting 
    • Exercise safe electrical practices

    • High School diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or related area
    • Graduate of a technical school with emphasis in electrical work is a plus
    • Able to read and comprehend electrical schematics
    • Basic knowledge of electrical theory and shop standards
    • Be able to use tools such as pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers and other small tools
    • Solid work ethic
    • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors
    • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds

    • Sit, talk, hear, read, write and type.

    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
    • Ability to work at heights upwards of 40’
    • Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations.
    • Required to wear safety equipment: as per MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.


    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    1. Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
