    Pillar is currently on the lookout for an Industrial Computer Drafter/Designer to join our Morgantown, WV team. This position will be based out of the Morgantown office, and will include some amount day travel. We are looking for individuals who have experience with AutoCAD and a basic understanding of electrical knowledge. The Computer Draftsman/Designer will report directly to the Automation Department Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Read and create CAD drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
    • Work with engineers to develop electrical and control system design solutions
    • Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals
    • Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept drawings
    • Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and prepare sound design solutions
    • Create accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials)
    • Work with engineers to create customer documentation such as functional diagrams and user manuals
    • Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standards

    Qualifications

    • Applicants must be a citizen of the United States with a Valid Driver’s License
    • Associates degree in Engineering, Drafting, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 2+ years’ experience in process control and automation
    • Fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs
    • Proficient with reading and creating CAD drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
    • Proficient with MS Office productivity software
    • Critical thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills
    • Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills
    • Ability to balance multiple projects in an organized manner
    • Ability to work independently and in team environments
    • Experience with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) is a plus
    • Good understanding of mechanical principals is a plus
    • Minimal travel is required
    • Willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
    • Willing to undergo a thorough background and drug screening process
