Position Overview

Are you someone who enjoys working with your hands and bringing mechanical ideas to life? As a Mechanical Field Technician I, you’ll play a key role in supporting a wide variety of exciting projects—from custom electromechanical equipment and robotics to structural installations and equipment mounting. You’ll work side-by-side with engineers and project managers, gaining valuable experience as you help move projects from concept to completion. Most of your time will be spent in the shop and out in the field at customer sites, making every day different and rewarding. With a basic understanding of mechanical principles and a strong willingness to learn, you’ll thrive in this hands-on role that values problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork. What You'll Do

  • Assist with assembly, troubleshooting, prototyping, and light fabrication in shop and field settings
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and other Engineering personnel to organize tools and materials and plan for assembly and installation
  • Learn to interpret mechanical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products
  • Assist with maintaining tool organization
  • Provide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue
  • Learn to develop and execute quality control and project check lists
  • Learn to view designs and navigate 3D/2D CAD software

Working Conditions

  • Walk/use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or tools / Reach with hands and arms / Climb ladders and stairs / crawl/kneel
  • Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Perform work on-site in industrial, commercial, and residential locations

What You'll Bring

  • 0-2 years experience in a role requiring hands-on mechanical applications and installations
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to identify and use basic hand tools
  • Ability to follow work direction and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
