The general role of the Field Technician I – Fiber Optics is to string and maintain fiber optic cable which includes pulling, tensioning, stranding, and spacing lines. This individual will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair fiber lines. This position will perform new cable installs, removals, modifications, and repairs in outside plant locations to include telephone poles, underground services, and conduit. The Field Technician I is also responsible for terminating, splicing, documenting, and testing fiber optic cables with an end goal of meeting customer needs and providing maximum operating efficiency. The work performed will be within communications and power spaces.
This individual understands each product and supports the improvement of operational efficiency and must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces for this position.
The Field Technician I will report to the Project Manager - Fiber Optics and will work primarily out of their assigned location.
