Position Overview

The general role of the Project Coordinator is to coordinate services such as electrical and fiber optic projects, installations, rented and owned equipment management, and supply chain and inventory management. This position must be available after-hours to answer calls from customers, field personnel, and Management.


This individual must have a thorough understanding of the project management life cycle. Ideally this person will also understand the needs of the Farmington Division and be proficient with the products and service equipment required to be an industry leader.


This individual must possess a general understanding of all aspects of electrical service/construction, projects, and services. The Project Coordinator provides administrative, customer, and logistic support. The position is mostly office oriented, but must also be able to work a flexible schedule that may include travel, weekends, and extended hours.

 

The Project Coordinator will report to the Business Development Manager / Sr. Project Manager and will work primarily from the Farmington, NM location.

What You'll Do

  • Schedule electrical/Fiber Optic service work, projects, maintenance, installations, etc. by balancing customer needs with product and labor availability
  • Monitor and adjust project schedules assigned
  • Communicate personnel, equipment, and supply needs to management
  • Maintain and organize the ordering, tracking, and receipt of inventory and material purchases
  • Assist in preparing project estimates and job quotes for customers
  • Develop and assign work orders and job numbers as needed
  • Review and complete monthly progress reports
  • Coordinate and review the billing processes with accounting
  • Assist project teams and managers in strategic meetings, follow up, meeting notes, and action plans
  • Support new business development and customer service by being available and responsive to internal and external customers and for new business inquiries
  • Responding to and managing customer service needs to include things that arise after hours
  • Ensure jobs are timely, on-budget, and customer needs are met
  • Coordinate with inspectors and other trades as needed
  • Provide paperwork and documentation for accurate record keeping, billing, and inventory
  • Maintain and track company tools, equipment, and vehicles for the department
  • Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures
  • Ensure proper communication to the Division Manager on all pertinent issues
  • Maintain a basic understanding of employment laws and regulations and collaborate with Human Resources to maintain compliance

What You'll Bring

  • 1+ years of electrical industry related experience preferred
  • 1+ years management experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Possess excellent networking skills
  • Able to organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals
  • Possess the ability for critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and in team environments
  • Proactive, resourceful, and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment
  • Ability to balance multiple projects
  • Must be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude
  • Proficient with Software such as estimating software, Procore, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Suit such as Projects, Outlook, Word, and Excel, etc.
