Position Overview

As a Production Planner – Fabrication & Machining, you’ll play a vital role in keeping projects organized and running smoothly by supporting the Director of Fabrication & Machining, the Production Manager, and Project Managers. In this role, you’ll handle a wide variety of responsibilities, including entering data into manufacturing software, requisitioning materials, creating work packets for each department, arranging shipments, preparing shipping documents, and managing the filing of completed work records. You’ll also oversee inventory for both the Fabrication and Machine Shops and coordinate the annual physical inventory count. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of industrial fabrication who enjoys balancing detail-oriented administrative work with technical and logistical tasks. Flexibility is important, as extended hours may occasionally be required, but in return, you’ll gain valuable experience in project planning, production processes, and inventory management while contributing to the success of a high-performing team.

What You'll Do

  • Create work packets for each department assisting on jobs
  • Enter bill of materials into manufacturing software
  • Create material requisitions for each job
  • Coordinate material arrival with buyers
  • Complete shipping tickets for each load
  • Scan and file documents relevant for each job

 

Working Conditions

  • Sit, stand, talk, hear, read, and write
  • Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms, climb in and out of equipment such as forklifts, etc.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

What You'll Bring

  • Possesses a high level of organization
  • Must be very detail oriented
  • Experience working with blueprints with the ability to interpret to create a bill of materials
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments with varying and changing deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Must have the ability to problem-solve and determine constructive solutions for customers
  • Must be dependable, trustworthy, possess a positive attitude, and be willing to work independently or in a team environment
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications
