Position Overview

As a Detailer I – Pillar Engineering, you’ll play an important role in supporting projects from concept through installation by providing precise detailing and file processing for a variety of applications in fabrication, machining, and construction. Working closely with other detailers, engineers, and project managers, you’ll primarily contribute from the office, while occasionally supporting work in the shop or at customer sites. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the fabrication process and drafting principles, who enjoys balancing computer-based design work with hands-on experience. Flexibility is key, as the position may require travel, overtime, and adapting to project needs, offering you the opportunity to gain diverse experience and contribute to a wide range of innovative projects.

What You'll Do

  • Interpret drawings and documentation for fabrication, machining, and construction
  • Maintain accurate records and files according to the company's standard operating procedures
  • Process and create CAD files with software for CNC equipment
  • Gather and interpret information to assist with pricing and proposals as assigned
  • Assist other detailers, project managers, engineers, purchasing, etc. to track material needs for assigned projects
  • Design and navigate 3D/2D CAD software and equipment processing software

 

Working Conditions

  • Walk/use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or tools / reach with hands and arms
  • Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted

What You'll Bring

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months - 2 years’ internship or relevant work experience preferred
  • Completion of a relevant 2-3 year technical program in CAD
  • Possess knowledge of the fabrication process, drafting principles, and willingness to perform hands-on work
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Possess relevant training and willingness to remain current regarding industry standards
