Position Overview

Get ready to embark on an exciting journey as an Electrical Engineer 1 in our dynamic Engineering & Automation team! You'll be at the heart of transforming innovative ideas into cutting-edge solutions, working on an incredible variety of projects that range from custom electromechanical equipment to state-of-the-art robotics and vision systems. Collaborate with talented engineers and project managers, and enjoy the flexibility of working in diverse environments – from our creative office to our hands-on shop and even directly at customer sites.

 

We're looking for a versatile electrical engineering enthusiast who loves to blend theoretical knowledge with practical skills! Whether you're designing intricate systems on a computer or rolling up your sleeves for hands-on work, this role offers the perfect mix of technical challenges. This position must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include travel and overtime as needed. Overnight travel is typically on an infrequent basis.

What You'll Do

  • Perform Electrical schematics and panel layouts, component specification, assembly, and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products as assigned
  • Gather information and pricing for proposal process to include site visits as needed
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and purchasing to communicate and track equipment and material needs from outside vendors
  • Develop and maintain a Bill of Materials (BOM) for projects as assigned
  • Execute scope of work or design changes to review with engineers and project management
  • Interpret and create schematic drawings, layouts, and other engineering documentation
  • Order and track materials using data sheets
  • Provide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue
  • Lead assembly, troubleshooting, prototyping, and wiring in the shop
  • Develop and execute quality control check lists
  • Recognize and communicate design changes to Engineers and Project Management that are not included in the Scope of Work or active Change Orders
  • Lead and mentor Electrical Technicians in various job duties and tasks as assigned

 

Working Conditions

  • Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel
  • Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Perform work on site in industrial, commercial, and residential locations

What You'll Bring

  • 6 months’ - 2 years’ internship or relevant work experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required, Electrical Engineering degree preferred
  • Passing FE (Fundamental Engineering Exam) preferred or willing to obtain within 1 year
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be willing to attend training and remain updated regarding industry standards
  • Ability to understand and interpret scope of work for specific tasks
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a team
  • Possesses proficiency in the use of personal computers to include Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in the use of software packages such as AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design software
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to stretch current abilities to learn new skills
